Let's Hope...................

Let’s hope that someday there will be peace all around,
Humanity will unleash and beatitude will know no bound,
Weapons won’t possess the same significance, and
“Red-cliffs” and “Mac-Mohans” needn’t any mound.

Let’s hope that someday no one will die of starvation,
Spreading Tranquillity will be the only oblation,
Even gods will envy our existence, and
Our world itself will become the place for salvation.

Let’s hope that someday everyone will read and write,
Humans won’t be demarcated as “black” and “white”
World will become a better place to live, and
It will too be brimmed of smiles, day and night.

Let’s hope that someday no one will be destitute,
No one will be assented to persecute
There will be harmony everywhere, and
In making peace, everyone is there to contribute.

Let’s hope………..
And start working for it.

An open letter to Sardar Bhagat Singh...

Respected Sir,

The word “respected” is nowhere near in describing the respect and esteem which I have for you in my heart, but the barriers of language are restricting me here. It’s been 81 years since your martyrdom and India have come a long way forward since then. Your dream of Independent India has come true. We are a free country now and also among one of the world’s fastest growing economies.
The journey was not an easy one. On the very day of independence, our country was being divided into two parts. The new country formed was named as “Pakistan”, a country for Indian Muslims. Britishers left this permanent scar on our country which can’t be cured anyhow. We were being attacked by our neighboring countries several times. But somehow we have managed to keep intact our sovereignty and integrity till now.
But at present the situation is not as it should be after 65 years of independence. We don’t even have a government of full majority, a clear indication that people are losing their faith day by day in the system. Our national capital “Delhi” is not safe for women. Government has germinated a novel and astonishingly brilliant way to eradicate poverty by reducing the amount which describes the poverty line. Rich are becoming richer and poor are becoming poorer. These are not good signs and as an acolyte of your beliefs, it’s my duty to make you aware of the current scenario of our country.
You imagined an India in which the wealth would not be centralized among a few people, people would have the feeling of devotion towards the system, and there would be harmonious and pervasive growth and development throughout the country. You envisaged that the freedom of our country would be of the lacs of farmers and poor people also who were being crushed, oppressed and tyrannized by the colonial presence. The freedom is there, but the oppression and tyranny is still there. Poverty, illiteracy, unemployment and female infanticide are still prevalent and there are no signs of their waiver.
You considered and believed that “Youth” of a country are its biggest assets. You revered the fact that “youth” can bring revolution and can change the fate of a country. Sacrifice of you revolutionaries evinced this fact and the whole world accepted it. But the worst and dolorous part is that today’s young people are not ready to take their responsibility. We never have gone through the pain of living in a country which is considered as under foreign rule, we never have breathed the air which doesn't give the feeling of oneness and freedom. We never have seen the revolutionaries on hunger strike for 116 days. So I guess we have taken everything for granted.
But the time has come when we have to take the devoir of bringing the change. We need to be morally strong so that things for the greater cause observe our rumination. I can’t say about anyone else, but I promise you, that one young mind (me) will continuously try to follow the path shown by you.
I am proud that I am born in the same country in which you were born, breathe the same air which you breathed and walk on the same roads and streets on which you walked.

One of your proud followers
Yash

Glimpses of Rhapsody..

Drizzling it was when I spotted that resplendent face,
Amidst the rain drops her eyes were like of a dace,
Beguiling was her beauty to believe it existed
Suddenly everything around started to efface.

She turned towards me and our eyes met,
Perplexed I became and started to fret,
Her face seemed to be illuminating the place
I inched towards her without any abet.

She smiled and caressed her wet hair,
Every movement of her was full of flair,
Her presence belittled my mere existence
Murky was the world and she was the glare.

Meekly I started a little chat with “hi”,
Smiled she again and the dialogue became spry,
Magical were her words and engrossed I became
The rain stopped then and abruptly she said bye.

Bewildered, I asked if we could meet again,
Smiling she said, “of course we can”,
“Same would be the place and blue would be the dress”
“Monday it would be and on July the fifteen”…. :)
